Portability and continuity

Know how you would leave

Separate the exit paths that exist in the product from the protections your team should put in the contract.

Shipped boundary

Portable in the product today

These are current product surfaces a technical team can inspect during evaluation.

Take record data out in standard files

Each published record version can be exported as CSV or JSON, with its structure defined by the same model that validates the data.

  • Export a published record version as CSV or JSON
  • Use a sample file to see the expected import shape
  • Keep field types, validation and version context alongside the data model

Rebuild against documented interfaces

The platform exposes conventional interfaces a replacement can read or reproduce, instead of requiring a private client protocol.

  • REST URLs for records, including list, search and bulk operations
  • An OpenAPI description plus a schema and presentation description per published version
  • Signed webhooks and CloudEvents-formatted platform events

Move identity without inventing a new protocol

Authentication, enterprise sign-on and directory synchronization use established identity standards.

  • OpenID Connect for authentication
  • SAML for enterprise single sign-on
  • SCIM for directory synchronization

Diligence boundary

Put the rest in the contract

A serious exit plan also needs commitments that cannot be delivered by a product screen. Agree these before the dependency becomes important.

Full data return

Define the complete export scope, formats, delivery timing, retention period and verified deletion process.

Transition assistance

Agree how long the service stays available after notice, what handover help is included and how additional work is priced.

Vendor-failure continuity

If continuity escrow matters, define the independent agent, release triggers, deposited material and verification schedule in the deal.

Commercial predictability

Put renewal treatment and any price protection in the commercial terms rather than relying on a sales conversation.

Honest boundary

What we do not claim

  • There is no one-click full-platform export today; a complete return is an assisted database operation.
  • Workflow definitions cannot currently be exported or imported as files. Reusable templates are not an exit format.
  • Standard files and interfaces reduce migration work; they do not make a replacement system automatically compatible.
  • Continuity escrow is not a standing product feature. It would need to be agreed and arranged for the engagement.
  • The platform is not presented as open source or as customer-operable during normal managed service.

How to test the exit path

Do the work while you still have leverage: inventory, test, then contract.

  1. Inventory what must move

List business records, files, identity links, workflow definitions, integration configuration and audit evidence.

  2. Test a representative export

Use a real record version to verify file shape, identifiers, relationships and the work a replacement would need.

  3. Close the contractual gap

Turn the remaining full-return, transition and continuity requirements into reviewed agreement language before purchase.

Bring the exit requirements now

We will separate what you can test in the product from what belongs in the agreement.
